Just before Easter, Camberley DFAS’ Young Arts group, led by Helen Gregson, brought together the work of eleven local Primary and Infant schools into an exhibition of children’s art - “Spring Magic”. It proved to be something of a magical event, and our efforts were fully rewarded by the enthusiasm of the school’s response. They not only sent us delightful artwork, but also walked children down to the exhibition so that we could all share their excitement and wonder at seeing their own work, and other childrens’, being displayed in this way.

We were thrilled by the quality and diversity of the work that was submitted: paintings, sketches, collages, computer generated art, photography, prints of wood, small paintings on canvas, and also 3D work. We included laptop displays and had music in different parts of the hall to explain the visual images and sounds which had stimulated some of the work.

Friends, families and members of the public who visited the exhibition all enjoyed it. Teachers were delighted to have the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas, and the exhibition seemed to be successful in so many different ways that we are hoping it may happen again in 2018!
