Welcome to the Arts Society Chester! We host monthly lectures on a wide range of topics relating to the Arts, normally meeting on the third Tuesday of the month from September to June. Our talks commence at 11am and are repeated at 1.30pm, with tea and coffee served before each lecture. All our lectures are given by speakers who are nationally-acclaimed experts in their subject. We welcome guests and new members to join us.
We also arrange Days of Special Interest, focussing in depth on a particular topic, and Visits to places of interest. In addition, we provide funding for local community arts projects through our monthly raffle, held at the lectures. See the News section for information on our current projects.
Guest Taster Sessions We welcome guests to an initial lecture free of charge. If you wish to attend, please contact the membership secretary on membership.chester@theartssociety.org to arrange it.
Become a member See the attachment section for the membership form, which you may complete and return as indicated on the form. In addition to the talks, membership gives you access to national Arts Society events and resources, and the quarterly magazine, which reviews arts and events nationwide.
Want to help? The success of our Society is due to members supporting the committee by helping at lectures and by joining the committee to help plan and deliver our lectures and events. Please speak to a committee member if you would be interested in joining the committee.
We are also interested in identifying 'Really Useful Members', who can offer specific expertise or ad hoc help, even if you do not wish to join the committee or offer a regular commitment.
