Arts Society Chester announces a full programme for 2026-27!

3 Jun 2026

Arts Society Chester has announced its new programme starting on Tues 15th September 2026. It includes a full programme of 10 talks, a Day of Special Interest and at least one theatre visit.  More events may be advertised during the year.

The programme secretary has put together another stimulating collection of talks which include the well-known (Banksy, Barbara Hepworth and Caravaggio) and lesser-known topics (book illustration, film noir and the artist Stanley Spencer).  Painting and opera, stained glass and sculpture, male and female artists, and even pilgrimage are all represented.

The Day of Special Interest in February will be on the Bloomsbury Group including Duncan Grant, Vanessa Bell and Roger Fry.

Dates and details of all talks are in the Events section.  Details of how to book the Day of Special Interest will be available closer to the time.

Anyone wishing to go on the theatre trip must confirm their booking by the 16th June 2026

If you wish to join the Society you can do so by contacting the Membership Secretary at taschestermembership@gmail.com .  If you are not sure, you can attend a ‘taster’ session for free, to see if you enjoy it: just contact the Membership Secretary to arrange it.
