Welcome to The Arts Society Guildford
Here in Guildford, we offer an exciting programme of monthly lectures on subjects ranging from Architecture to Ceramics, Sculpture to Photography, Warhol to Zoffany – and much more besides. Our lectures are given by eminent speakers who are expert, engaging communicators and excel in their chosen field.
There are day visits by coach, as well as, more local ‘make your own way’ visits, to places of great interest, such as; art galleries, exhibitions, historic churches, houses and gardens often not open to the public.
As a Society, we promote and support the Arts in our area through the activities of our Arts Volunteering & Heritage Volunteers. We have also sponsored, with The Arts Society, a series of workshops at the Lightbox, Woking: Art in Mind, a series of artist led workshops for those with dementia and their carers. Our Art @ the station programme collaborates with South Western Rail and provides art for their station Waiting Rooms; take a look if you are passing through Guildford, Woking, Farncombe and Godalming stations!
Our friendly Society goes from strength to strength and we celebrated our 40th Anniversary in 2021. We don't currently have a Membership waiting list.
Our lectures are given in the evening and we draw our Members from Guildford Town centre and the surrounding villages. Visit us, learn something interesting, make some new friends and get involved! We'd love to see you.
