Welcome to The Arts Society Guildford

Here in Guildford, we offer an exciting programme of monthly lectures on subjects ranging from Architecture to Ceramics, Sculpture to Photography, Warhol to Zoffany – and much more besides. Our lectures are given by eminent speakers who are expert, engaging communicators and excel in their chosen field.

We also run an annual Special Interest Day in association with Guildford Book Festival, where you can join us for more in-depth lectures on arts and literary subjects.
There are day visits by coach, as well as, more local ‘make your own way’ visits, to places of great interest, such as; art galleries, exhibitions, historic churches, houses and gardens often not open to the public.

As a Society, we promote and support the Arts in our area through the activities of our Young Arts, Heritage Volunteers and Church Recording Teams. We have also sponsored, with The Arts Society, a series of workshops at the Lightbox, Woking: Art in Mind, a series of artist led workshops for those with dementia and their carers. Our Art @ the station programme collaborates with South Western Rail and provides art for their station Waiting Rooms; take a look if you are passing through Guildford or Woking station!

Our friendly Society goes from strength to strength and we celebrated our 35th Anniversary in 2016. We have a Membership of around 200 and  currently don't have a waiting list.
Our lectures are given in the evening and we draw our Members from Guildford Town centre and the surrounding villages. Come along, learn something interesting, make some new friends and get involved! We'd love to see you.
