Malvern Hills DFAS Volunteers' Wall Hanging Project
A small group of Malvern Hills DFAS Volunteers, alongside Worcester Embroiderers' Guild members were invited to design and construct a large wall hanging for the new Malvern Community Hospital.
The six foot hanging consists of strips of silk in a close colour range and depicts many of the noteworthy buildings and features of the town. The embroidered pieces were worked separately using different techniques and then applied individually to the appropriate silk strip.
The piece now hangs in the hospital dining room and will be enjoyed by visitors for years to come.
