Stamford DFAS Volunteers at Work in their Local Town Hall
Stamford DFAS, under expert guidance, has demonstrated their commitment to their local community and their determination to preserve and cherish heritage through an important volunteering project at Stamford Town Hall.
The Town Hall has a priceless collection of ancient books and pamphlets, including literature about Bull Running, which used to be part of life in the town. Established in the early 20th century by Joseph Phillips, a local brewer, the collection chronicles the events of the 19th century and earlier, so is invaluable to historians. The collection has until recently been unavailable for study because of its frail condition. Stamford Heritage Volunteers have worked tirelessly to restore the collection and bring it back into the public domain.
