Enjoy a coach trip to this elegant Grade II listed riverside mansion, home of the Vane Percy family
TASWG will be spending a summer’s day at Island Hall, in Godmanchester in Cambridgeshire, named after an ornamental island on the River Great Ouse.
Built in the late 1740s, Island Hall is home to the Vane Percy family, whose ancestors have lived here for eight generations.
Privately owned, and very much a family home, the house is full of sumptuous fabrics and subtle paint effects, many authentic to past eras, all setting off family portraits and furniture.
Our visit will include a coffee stop at Jordans Mill en route, a house and garden tour led by a family member and a light lunch with tea/coffee.
