A coach trip to explore Fulham Palace in west London, historic home to the Bishops of London

The fascinating history of Fulham Palace spans more than 1,300 years and 133 Bishops of London.

This Arts Society Welwyn Garden coach trip offers an excellent opportunity to explore the Palace’s mix of architectural styles, as well as its 13 acres of gardens, featuring rare trees and plantings.

The current house dates to the 13th century and was used by successive Bishops as a summer retreat and to entertain important visitors. It became a hospital for wounded soldiers in 1918 and a place of refuge from the Blitz for families in 1940. Major restoration projects since the last Bishop of London to live in the Palace left in 1973 have seen the house brought back to life.

Our coach will leave College Way, Campus East, WGC at 9.30am. Coffee will be served on arrival, after which we will have a guided tour of the house and gardens in two groups. We’ll have a Ploughman’s Lunch in a private room, after which there will be an opportunity to visit the museum. Our coach will depart for Welwyn Garden City at 3.30pm.

Tickets for this members coach trip are £55.00 per person.
