Threads through the Bible - an astonishing textile art exhibition

10 Feb 2025

‘Threads through the Bible ’ is an astonishing textile art exhibition showing from 16th January to 3rd March at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral.  If you’re interested in the visual arts, textile art or sewing, don’t miss it!   This is a great opportunity to enjoy a wonderful exhibition in a wonderful location.  It may be a bit of a journey for some, but it will be right up their street for many …

The show consists of 44 beautiful silk panels re-imagining key sections in the Bible. They’re huge – nearly 3m high – and if they were put side by side they would stretch 100 metres.

It’s one of the largest textile art projects, ever.  It has taken artist Jacqui Parkinson ten years to complete - and 25 million stitches.  You’ll find the huge scale, vibrant colours, dramatic and complex designs truly breath-taking.

Many Arts Society members saw the exhibition’s first part, ‘Threads through Creation’, when it toured 2021-2024 – and loved it!
