Welcome to The Arts Society Gade Valley
The Arts Society Gade Valley is one of the original, founding members of the Society. With just over 200 members, it is an open and welcoming society which meets for a monthly lecture, between October and July, at the picturesque village hall at Potten End, near Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire. The programme of lectures is varied and wide-ranging and subject matter is selected making full use of the pool of over 300 experts accredited by The Arts Society. In addition to the lectures, members can attend more in depth, special interest days and join visits to cultural venues such as art galleries, historic houses, gardens and museums. The annual March lunch is a wonderful social occasion, with a culinary theme inspired by the lecture subject. Once a year members have the opportunity to book a cultural holiday either in the UK or abroad.
The Arts Society Gade Valley is active in many other ways, including volunteering at the nearby Chenies Manor and Berkhamsted Castle, undertaking Church Recording projects and supporting Young Arts' initiatives with local schools and youth organisations.
We are known for our friendly and inclusive atmosphere and potential new members are always welcome to attend a taster lecture as our guest.
