St Michael’s Mount are holding their special opening of the garden for charities and local groups & we are invited
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A MEMBERS ONLY TOUR
St Michael’s Mount are once again holding their special opening of the garden for charities and local groups.
We have booked for members of the Arts Society West Cornwall to join with the Friends of Morrab Gardens, Peninsula Garden Society and The Gardeners’ House on Monday 27 April at 11.30am. Our access will be exclusive as the garden doesn’t open to the public until Friday 1 May.
Here is information from St Michael’s Mount with more about the visit.
The month of April allows us an exclusive time to open the garden to special interest and educational groups. The beautiful, fragile, terraced garden was created in 1878 by members of the St Aubyn Family adding to the previous walled garden installed in 1780. Sheltered from the gales and sea spray that you would expect, these steep terraces harbour beautiful examples of plants from around the world which thrive in the island’s unique microclimate. The constantly evolving garden shows its best colours throughout spring and early summer and as we prepare to open for everyone to enjoy them in May we are able to accommodate visits by pre-arranged groups.
We would not charge your group admission to the garden and can offer free parking for those attending. Single boat tickets are £3.20 per adult & £1.60 per child.
If you would also like to visit the castle during you visit this would be free of charge too.
Please note we also have the Steward’s House Gallery open in April which displays the beautiful Shelia Hitchens collection which comprises of works from the Newlyn School of Art. This is free to access during your time on the island.
In order to take up the offer of free parking we will need to send the car registration numbers of those attending. Please complete the required section on ticket tailor when registering your attendence.
