'In Brilliant Light'
At the World Museum, Leiden
* meetup at the museum at 10.45.
The exhibition In Brilliant Light at Wereldmuseum Leiden provides a platform for contemporary art from Africa. This exhibition celebrates the richness and diversity of art from Africa and its diaspora and offers a dynamic dialogue between the present and the recent past. Immerse yourself in the many different worlds of artists and discover how they are influenced by the past in the present. Guest curator Azu Nwagbogu created the exhibition by pairing masterpieces from the collection of the Wereldmuseum with work by contemporary artists, seeking to provide answers to some of the most urgent questions of our times.
The exhibition features various themes ranging from post-colonialism to power and spirituality. Using their work, the artists hope to gain a better understanding of the world around them. The exhibition route follows the eight themes that the artists reflect upon through their work.
We have 15 places available.
