It is 500 years since Martin Luther posted his 95 theses on the church door in Wittenberg Germany's and the ensuing political and religious turmoil in Europe

The study days look at the power of the Renaissance princes and popes which contributed to this and the resulting religious schisms in Europe which developed into the Reformation and Counter Reformation and the political repercussions The second part of this study day occurs one week later on Thursday 2nd November, with a different lecturer. Each day costs £38, which includes refreshments upon arrival and a buffet lunch. Lecturer for the first day is not accredited by The Arts Society
