The Work of an Art Detective

We invite you to join us for a lecture given by Arthur Brand on ‘The Work of an Art Detective’ in the Atrium on Tuesday 8th December 2026 at 20.00 hours.

The world renowned art detective Arthur Brand will be talking about his work and the recent spate of museum thefts.  In this fascinating lecture we will learn about the (under)world of art theft from a world authority in the field.

For 15 years, Arthur Brand has been an art detective. His consultancy, Artiaz, helps clients establish the authenticity and provenance of pieces. But he is better known as 'the Indiana Jones of art', recovering artefacts like the 'Hitler’s Horses' bronze statues, a painting by Pablo Picasso, and a ring that belonged to Oscar Wilde.  He has featured in the television show 'De Kunstdetective' and his book, 'Hitler’s Horses', has been translated into 15 languages and optioned for film by MGM.

We are hoping that Members and Guests will take the opportunity to come to the Atrium.
