Online Event

At the end of the 19th century Portugese architects and designers developed their own variant of Art Nouveau.

Buildings are often distinguished by their Azulejos or hand painted tile panels, usually blue. Azulejos are found on the interior and exterior of every type of building from churches to railway stations, like Sao Bento railway station in Porto where 20.000 azulejo tiles were used to decorate the building. We will look at Villas in Porto but also gorgeous Art Nouveaux buildings in Aveiro. Ofcourse we will also see the most beautiful bookshop in the world where the inspiration for Harry Potter was found, a beautiful Art Nouveau building.
