As one of the Societies under The Arts Society umbrella we strive to follow its stated aim: “The Association shall have as its objects the promotion and advancement of the aesthetic education of the public, the cultivation, appreciation and the study of the decorative fine arts and the giving of aid for the preservation of our national and artistic heritage for the benefit of the public”.

At The Arts Society Bolton we try to achieve that aim in various ways. Our main activity is our eclectic lecture programme which surely covers every possible area of the arts.

Each season we have a series of nine lectures, running from October to June, and a single annual membership fee gives each member access to every lecture. In addition we organise visits, social events and special interest days and also have a comprehensive programme of volunteer groups.
