How the Lake District Shaped British Landscape Art

Art historian and broadcaster Dr Bendor Grosvenor explores how the dramatic scenery of the Lake District was one of the secret ingredients behind
the emergence of British landscape painting in the 18th and 19th centuries. His new book is a frank reassessment of the history of British art that
reveals how the art of this country has been created, what made it distinctive and why it took so long to emerge.

Bendor Grosvenor
British art historian, writer and former art dealer. He is known for discovering a number of important lost artworks by Old Master artists, including Sir Peter Paul Rubens, Claude Lorrain and Peter Brueghel the Younger.
