Welcome to The Arts Society Fantasy Area

A Test

Are you interested in art history, art lectures, fine arts, learning new skills, joining an arts society and meeting like minded people of all ages? Then THE ARTS SOCIETY is for you.

The rest of this website will give you some idea of what THE ARTS SOCIETY societies have to offer and how to contact one in your locality.

The South West Area consists of 25 member societies in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset.

The Area brings together representatives of all the societies in our area. In this way Societies can benefit from the experiences of other Societies, raise any concerns and be kept up to date with current national policies. In addition the Area Chairman reflects the view of societies to the National Advisory Council which advises the Chief Executive and the Trustee Board. Area and Societies are supported by the officers of the National Association who operate from NADFAS House in London.

Area events are noted on the ‘Special Interest Days’ and ’Meetings’ pages. The Area offers support to the Societies through Area meetings, education events, an annual Programme Planning Seminar and training for new and potential committee members.

The Area also encourages and promotes Heritage Volunteers, Church Recording and Young Arts activities. Each society organises a full programme of lectures, special interest days and visits for their members.

Details of society programmes can be found by contacting the individual society. Contact details can be found on the ‘Societies’ page. Information about area events are noted on the ‘Special Interest Days/Events’ page, which are open to everyone, including non-members.

Supporter membership of The Arts Society is also available for £10 p.a.  See their website -  theartssociety.org/membership-benefits.

Benefits include the quarterly Arts magazine, invitations to members events and courses, special offers and concessions, regular newsletter with updates from The Arts Society and opportunities to volunteer.

Each Member Society of THE ARTS SOCIETY is run by a volunteer committee that manages the Society's affairs. Member societies are grouped into 18 areas throughout the country. Areas are run by teams, headed by an Area Chairman who represents Societies at national level. Each Society of the 25 in the South West Area organises a full programme of lectures, Special Interest Days and visits. Details of society programmes can be found by contacting the individual Society, whose contact details can be found on the Societies page. Details of area events and visits are on the Special Interest Days and the News/Courses pages. We look forward to welcoming you to one of our societies or an Area event in the near future.
