Welcome to The Arts Society Tarporley
“The belief that the Arts have the potential to enrich peoples’ lives is at the heart of everything we do”
We Inspire, We do, We give ……..
SPRING 2023
Starting off this New Year’s programme we head over the Atlantic Ocean to learn about the White House and its gardens during the Kennedy presidency. In the following months we travel through the centuries from Australia 50,000 years ago to the Swinging 60’s of the UK. We explore architecture and the art found even ‘behind bars’, in HM Prisons and of course the architecture and the history of art from around the world and the stories and secrets that are revealed. There is something for everyone, it is surprising how sometimes a subject that doesn’t appeal, opens up your mind totally.
Our next Day of Special Interest in April will be presented by Karin Fernald who is going to give us an insight into the life of Jane Austen. The event will consist of three lectures with breaks for coffee and a great lunch with a glass or two of wine. A chance to meet up with friends or make new ones.
Our trip to Italy last October to learn about The Art & History of Hidden Umbria was a great success, see the Gallery below.
You could try us out for size and come to a taster lecture as a guest and then if you like it and want to join you can. We are a friendly group and not only enjoy our lectures but our trips out to wonderful houses, gardens, museums etc. Please take a look at our forthcoming lecture list which can be downloaded as a pdf Programme Card from this site. If you would like to attend a taster lecture please contact guests@tastarporley.uk for more details.
We meet at the Tarporley Community Centre on the 2nd Thursday of the month from September through to June and look forward to welcoming you in the near future.
