Welcome to The Arts Society Tarporley
SUMMER 2023
Thinking of joining us? At Tarporley we invite you to enjoy the monthly lectures and there is still plenty to look forward to even as we head towards our summer break. This month, April, we have Georgina Bexon’s lecture about Australian Indigenous Art 50,000 years ago, to the present day. In May we learn of the art found in the claustrophobic tunnels of coal mines, from desperate conditions emerged beauty and majesty. At our AGM lecture in June we end our programme with the Swinging 60’s of the UK.
Our next Day of Special Interest in April will be presented by Karin Fernald who is going to give us an insight into the life of Jane Austen. Two or three lectures, with a great lunch and a glass or two of wine. A chance to meet up with friends, bring them with you, make new ones. There is also a Spring trip planned to visit the Coalport Museum on Thursday 4th May, we have ordered the sunshine!
TAST Fully Guided Tour to Italy will take place again in October 2023 to Lake Garda. Taking in the Art & Culture of Northern Italy, we will visit Venice, Padua, Verona, Mantua and Bergamo. You will see magnificent architecture, frescoes, paintings, sculpture and mosaics visiting enchanting villages on the way.
