Society Project Grants

Society Project Grants

Member Societies of The Arts Society can apply for a grant to support a project they wish to take part in or support. We believe that the arts are for everybody and will use our grants to make a positive contribution to people's lives through the arts.

The need to support our local arts organisations and museums and continue the vital contribution of skills development in the arts and heritage sector is greater than ever. Grants given to our Societies enable our volunteers, members and the wider community to engage with and give access to the arts especially to those that normally wouldn't have access to them.

APPLICATION DATES & DEADLINES

Our grants are now open.  Societies can submit applications until the 31st March 2024. Please ensure you are logged in to view the application form link at the bottom of this page.

Societies can still apply for our Community Grants here at any time.

what you can apply foR

Our Societies can apply in the Spring & Autumn rounds for grants of up to £2000. Arts Volunteering projects support a wide range of activities to introduce people of all ages to, and engage them in, artistic experience and practice. They may include artists in residence; art lectures for students; funding visits to art galleries and museums; art exhibitions for young artists; arts supplies; practical workshops; local Arts Week events; bursaries for individual students; and sponsorship for craft apprentices.

Whilst most applications received are for Arts Volunteering projects Societies are welcome to apply for a grant to support their Heritage Volunteering or Trails of Discovery projects.

We welcome applications where there will be more emphasis on localism and that support projects and organisations that support the arts and heritage at grass roots level and achieve greater impact for local communities.

WHAT WE DON'T FUND

  • Operational costs, machinery and equipment.

  • Non-compliance with application procedures.

  • Projects that have already started. (You can apply for a new phase of a project, this would need to be clear in your application. Please contact grants@theartssociety.org if you would like to discuss the eligibility of your project.)

  • Please note, reserves will be taken into account. Reserves are the funds that your Society is keeping to protect you against drops in income or allow you to take advantage of new opportunities. Please check the level of your Society's reserves with your Treasurer.

    COMMUNITY GRANTS

Societies can also apply for Community Grants in addition to the regular grants rounds.
