Established in 1991, The Arts Society Pewsey Vale (www.theartssociety-pewseyvale.com) has a membership of 185 and we are a vibrant, friendly and welcoming society which meets for our monthly lectures in the Bouverie Hall, Pewsey, Wiltshire.
We take great pride in keeping our neighbouring societies up to date with information on Tours and the wonderful Winter Study Courses run by Wessex Area (www.theartssociety-wessex.org) to give our members more opportunities for fascinating tours.
Our evening meetings, (cancelled until further notice) because of Covid-19, take place on the 4th Tuesday of each month with the doors opening at 7pm and the lecture beginning at 7:30pm for appoximately one hour.
A monthly e-newsletter is sent to all members with information on Area activities and also public art-related exhibitions which may be of interest. Membership in The Arts Society Pewsey Vale is renewable on an annual basis and includes 9 monthly lectures on a wide range of topics delivered by renowned experts in their field. The programme for the current year can be found on our website (link below) under the Lectures tab above. Additional activities include Study Days which give interested members the chance to explore a topic in greater depth, Visits organised as day trips to places of special interest take place three times a year.
A more detailed description of all these activities can be found under the relevant heading at the top of the web page. Through their voluntary efforts Members also contribute to the work of a variety of local conservation, education and heritage projects. Heritage Volunteers have carried out superb conservation work in a project centred on The Merchant's House in Marlborough.
