We are one of 360 societies throughout the UK and Europe affiliated to The Arts Society. We meet on the morning of the second Thursday of the month, 10 times a year, at the Painswick Centre. Our objective, through inspiring lectures, visits, study days and heritage projects, is to broaden our knowledge and enjoyment of the decorative and fine arts with like minded friendly people. 

Our lecturers are chosen for their knowledge, presentational skills and entertainment value. They speak on a wide variety of topics: architecture, artists and designers, china, glass, furniture, jewellery, music , painting and much much more, covering ancient history to modern times. Before each lecture (from 9.45) you can chat with other members over a cup of tea or coffee and biscuit. The lectures start at 11am.

We arrange visits to country houses, museums, exhibitions, gardens and other places of interest. For those who enjoy hearing about a subject in greater depth, we have Special Interest Days which enable the topic to be presented in more detail. The cost of such days includes an excellent buffet lunch and tea/coffee.

Members can get involved in their local heritage via church recording, Young Arts and other heritage projects.
