COMPLAINTS HANDLING

The purpose of this policy and our procedures for listening to our members, supporters and stakeholders is to manage our relationship with those with whom we engage.

The Arts Society strives to provide an excellent service, we want to find out if things have gone wrong, so we can fix them, immediately where possible, and prevent things going wrong in the future, whilst maintaining a consistent and open service to all our stakeholders.

ENVIRONMENTAL

As a membership organisation The Arts Society approaches its responsibilities for the
environment in two ways; firstly by examining the practices of its central operations and
seeking to ensure they are environmentally responsible and secondly by encouraging and
supporting its member societies to take practical and sustainable actions to help the environment.

GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR)

The Arts Society needs to process and retain certain information about its employees, trustees, volunteers, members, grant recipients, lecturers and other members of the public
to enable it to provide services and demonstrate public benefit.

To comply with the law, information must be collected and used fairly, stored safely and not disclosed to any other person unlawfully. To do this, The Arts Society must comply with the principles which are set out in the Data Protection Legislation.

VOLUNTEER

The Arts Society acknowledges that volunteers contribute in many ways, values the time given and skills brought by volunteers and is committed to supporting, encouraging and developing volunteering.

The organisation recognises its responsibility to arrange its volunteering efficiently so that the outcome of the volunteer's time and effort is to the mutual advantage of all concerned.
