Fellow members, as treasurer it is my task to present the accounts for the last financial year.
Everyone should receive a copy by email or post.
Income from subscriptions has increased
Gift aid refers to the admin fee. Our Society is not a charity and so we can’t claim gift aid but the National Society can claim it on the affiliation fee and they give us back £1.00 for each member who gift aids their subscription.
On the expenditure side our expenses are much the same and we have paid for the Young Arts project at Christ Church Primary School. The expenditure on lectures is lower as we did not have a meeting in March.
Arts Society affiliation etc includes insurance and fares fund as well as a capitation fee to NW region.
The Reserve Fund.
During the years I have been treasurer I have read the same paragraph each year about the reasons why we have a substantial amount in the Scottish Widows account. This year we will most certainly have to use some of this money. The committee has decided to roll over the membership subscriptions to cover 2021 so we will have very little income coming in until late 2021. Although we have no lectures until March 2021 we will still have to pay a slightly reduced affiliation fee to the Arts Society for the current year.
Please note
Lectures-The March lecture was cancelled by the lecturer.
Committee expenses-These include rail fare etc for the directory day. These expenses can be reclaimed from the society but will come into this year’s accounts. (Directory Day was cancelled and rail fare has been refunded)
Young Arts. Total amount spent on the project.
