Our Emerging Artist Award winner, Felicitas Wagner, whose work was selected for display at both the The Mall Galleries & Royal Over-Seas League exhibitions in London this spring was interviewed on Friday 13th March by Emma Gill on BBC Radio Cornwall’s afternoon show.
Felicitas’s work, a watercolour with pen entitled "Feathered Fight", was one of only 40 to be selected for display at both exhibitions by the Royal Society of British Artists panel from over 200 submitted, an accolade for the highest quality of work. Her work is currently on show at The Royal Over-Seas League in St James Street London until 19th April.
West Cornwall committee members chose her work at the annual Penwith College Art and Design students Show held at the Penzance School of Art in June last year.
Felicitas is currently studying 3D Design at the University of Plymouth part-time and hoping to go on to obtain a teacher training qualification.
Felicitas was accompanied by John McEvoy, West Cornwall’s chair, who said “We are so proud that Felicitas’s work was selected for these prestigious exhibitions, and we will continue to support and promote art students in West Cornwall via our Arts Volunteering programme, which includes the Emerging Artist Award at Penwith College’s annual Art and Design Students Show”.
