Members of The Arts Society can enjoy a 10% discount on the V&A’s short course Contemporary Craft: Making, Materials and Methods 23 April – 2 March, 10 Weeks, (Thursdays 14.00 – 16.30).
In an increasingly virtual and digital world, the ability to craft objects by hand is becoming more admired and valued. This course will highlight a range of artists who are injecting innovation and energy into traditional disciplines. We will look in depth at a range of materials including ceramics, glass, furniture and wood, metal, jewellery, paper and textiles. Contextual lectures, handling sessions and visits to artist studios and galleries will be given by a design historians, curators and a range of Britain’s most respected artist-makers.
