Exclusive 10% discount on V&A Museum Art History course
Members of The Arts Society can enjoy a 10% discount on the V&A’s upcoming weekend course Artists and Patrons (Saturday 14 March 2020 - Sunday 15 March 2020).
Over the course of 2 days students will explore the complex relationship between the patron and artist in the formation of works of art. From a Renaissance Pope determined to enhance his prestige among rivals to a modern museum sponsoring an artist in residence, the nature of art production in the West has frequently depended on the symbiotic relationship between a patron and their chosen artist. Students will trace this evolution of patronage from the Renaissance to the 21st century, and uncover the incredible impact on a range of artistic careers. Led by art lecturer Dr Angela Cox, the course includes talks by Arts Society Lecturers Dr Jacqueline Cockburn, Dr Paula Nuttall and Dr Kathy McLauchlan. Read more about the course here: https://www.vam.ac.uk/event/2KW6wa7z/artists-and-patrons-mar-2020
Art Society Members can claim the discount by booking over the phone (0207 942 2000) and quoting ARTSOCIETY10.
