YOUNG SILVERSMITHS CHOSEN COLLECTION
YOUNG SILVERSMITHS CHOSEN COLLECTION
29 Oct 2017
The Art Society’s Silverware Chosen Collection has been selected for display at The Bowes Museum until 21 January 2018. The exquisite pieces in the exhibition were created by second-year jewellery and metalwork students at Sheffield Hallam University from 2004 to the present day, with the support of a bursary from The Arts Society North East Area. Each student had to make a pouring or drinking vessel for a chosen, well-known client, which reflects the individual’s interests, lifestyle or achievements.
“We’re delighted to show this in-focus display of the work of young silversmiths in the museum’s historic galleries,” said Howard Coutts, Curator of Ceramics at The Bowes Museum.
