The Bayeux Tapestry is a unique work of art, created for a specific location and recording an extraordinary time in history. Juliet’s lecture will look at other work from the period, in order to put it in its artistic context, and will focus on the very approachable figures in, and narrative of, the Bayeux Tapestry itself in what is known as the ‘Romanesque’ period.

Photographs include places recently visited where the Battle of Hastings took place, but the main drive of the talk will be on the figures appearing in the tapestry and its narration.

After living in France for 30 years Juliet is a specialist on French art.
