Student Supported by The Arts Society Northamptonshire Wins National Art Bytes Award

A student from Northampton School for Boys has been named the National Secondary Winner in the Art Bytes 2026 competition, with the school's participation supported by The Arts Society Northamptonshire. Chance Enane received the honour at the Art Bytes national Celebration Event in June, recognising the creativity of talented young artists from across England. 

This year, 36 Arts Societies supported 48 schools to enter the Art Bytes competition, championing the visual arts and celebrating the creativity of young people nationwide. Chance's success is a particularly rewarding achievement for The Arts Society Northamptonshire and the volunteers who helped make the school's participation possible. 

Lucy Byrne, Managing Director of dot-art and Programme Director of Art Bytes, said: 

"The standard of work this year has been extraordinary. Seeing young people's faces as their names are called out, knowing the journey they have been on, is exactly why we do this. Every child who took part this year should be enormously proud. Art Bytes exists to show them that creativity matters and that their ideas have value." 

The Arts Society's Arts Volunteers support young people and adults in communities across the UK by creating opportunities to engage with the arts. Working with schools, museums and arts organisations, they sponsor creative programmes, support local arts initiatives and help make the arts more accessible. 

Chance's national success is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when young people are encouraged to explore their creativity and reflects the positive impact volunteers make in helping young people discover and develop their artistic talents.
