Palma Hosts Contemporaneous International Art Fairs

3 Apr 2026

In a surfeit of simultaneous blessings, Palma de Mallorca will be hosting two international fairs of contemporary art between 9 April and 12 April 2026.  Not only are they being held on the same days, they’re being held at venues with almost the same names.  Fear not!  There is a free shuttle between the two.

SUMMA International Art Fair returns to Palma in a big way.  It is organized by both art galleries and artists.  The exhibition will showcase more than 250 contemporary visual artists and 30 galleries at the Spanish-named Palacio de Congresos of Pueblo Español in Palma’s Son Dureta neighborhood.   It’s open to everyone and tickets are only 10€.  There’s an opening “fiesta” the evening of Thursday, 9 April.  For details, link to https://summaartfair.com/#edition-2026

Art Cologne will kick off the same day at the Catalan-named Palau de Congressos, the modernist venue on the Nou Levant waterfront area of Palma.  88 galleries are participating.  The venue is more gallery oriented.  The exhibits are grouped into a “Parkour” section featuring younger --possibly cutting-edge -- artists and a Gran Saló section for more established, but still contemporary, artists.  Again, everyone is welcome.  Tickets start at 12€.  Details on this art fair are at https://www.artcologne.com/palma/.

Given all this activity, don’t be surprised if you see more than the usual number of creative people on the island that week.  The artists and exhibitors will also be participating in workshops and tours introducing them to Mallorca’s burgeoning arts scene.  Try to help them understand that the Palacio is not the Palau; and be sure to tell them about The Arts Society Mallorca when you see them!
