Tabley Book Restoration - Resumed November 2025

Our Heritage Volunteers are working as part of a team working on the rewarding book restoration project at Tabley Hall, Knutsford. The historic books are hugely important as part of our story of the area.

Sessions every other Thursday from November 2025 to March 2026 when the house is closed and will run between 10.30am until 12.30pm, twice a month. 

A small group of volunteers from the Bowdon Arts Society meet to process the thousands of books held in this library, painstakingly working through the collection performing various activities such as logging shelf positions, recording bibliographic details and copy-specific information such as inscriptions and annotations, cleaning, conducting any basic repairs required and identifying those needing specialist attention.
