The Art Society Mallorca Under New Leadership

This week members enjoyed a fabulous evening at Artmadams Hotel in Palma. The speaker of the evening, Bertie Pearce, entertainer with a passion for the arts, magic and the theatre, brought to life the history of a bronze statue left idling in a garden for 40 years. The statue sold for over £6 million at a Sotheby auction and is now in the Getty Museum, California.

At a cava welcome reception, the new chair, Gail Davies, along with the new committee members, welcomed everyone and outlined plans for the future of the Society. As well as a calendar of evening talks, The Arts Society Mallorca now offers visits, social events and a range of activities from coffee mornings to in-depth study days. Their next day out is a full day visit to the art nouveau villa Can Prunera in Soller.
