Uckfield Music Club- our eighty first year!!

Dear friends of Uckfield Music Club

We are very pleased to bring you an advance preview of our 2025 season. I think you will agree that we have put together a very attractive programme and we are so proud of bringing artists of this calibre to our corner of North East Sussex. 

Once again we are able to open our season with one of the great masterpieces of the classical chamber music repertoire:Mozart’s wonderful clarinet quintet. The young Sonas string quartet from the Guildhall are matched with the maturity and wisdom of distinguished clarinet maestro, Nicholas Carpenter. You will probably remember the wonderful presentation that he gave to us in Bridge Cottage in 2023. Oh, and there is  a Beethoven quartet on the programme as well!

June will give us an opportunity to hear a rising star of the piano world. Kasparis Mikužis, has been receiving rave reviews not just in his native Lithuania (where he played for the Lithuanian and Polish presidents!) but throughout Europe.

Anyone who heard Miriam Teppich playing the Mendelssohn violin concerto in Buxted , or who has heard Pavlos Carvalho playing the Bach cello suites will be rushing to book tickets for our July concert where they join with prize winning pianist Jakob Fichert. The programme includes the first performance of a trio by local composer and conductor Julian Broughton,as well as works by Ravel and Mendelssohn. Don’t miss this!

Who knows what future talent will emerge from our young musicians’ concert on March 22 in Holy Cross Church? Please do come and support these aspiring musicians.
