Welcome to The Arts Society North Bucks

''The Arts Society North Bucks was launched in 2009. Currently we have about 200 members and enjoy a lively programme of 10 monthly lectures a year on a wide variety of arts-related topics, plus two Special Interest Days exploring a subject in more depth. In addition we arrange at least two visits to exhibitions or places of interest each year; a short members' holiday, either at home or abroad is offered in alternate years.

Our  meetings are on the second Thursday of each month (except in July and August); coffee is served from 10.15-10:50a.m., and the lecture is at 11.00a.m., lasting for about an hour.

Change of Venue for monthly meetings: From September 2026, we move to a new venue – the Chrysalis Theatre, (Camphill), Japonica Lane, Milton Keynes MK15 9JY - a short distance from Newport Pagnell.
Take Monks Way (H3) or Dansteed Way (H4) from Newport, and turn left onto Brickhill Street (V10) going south. The Theatre is signed in brown off Brickhill Street. In Japonica Lane take the immediately right turn; there is a small car park on the right but a large one slightly further, on the left. Park and walk up the road to the lawn area. There is a café ahead and the imposing theatre is opposite. Through the large wooden doors is the foyer where coffee and tea will be served and there are toilets and pegs for coats.

For those less mobile there is an access road beyond the large car park which takes you to the back of the theatre. There is a turning circle for cars and a ramp up into the back of the hall. The seating is raked, the front giving easy access.

Camphill MK is home to a community of young adults who have a wide range of learning disabilities. You will see them around the site. The vegetarian café offers adults with a range of abilities the opportunity to receive supported work experience. They work closely with the artisan bakery, the garden and land-craft workshops. These products are used in the café which is open between 10-3pm. Booking for lunch is advisable on 01908 308738. Bread can also be ordered.

Details of our lectures from September to December are shown below.

Members of the Society come from the city of Milton Keynes and the many towns and villages in North Bucks. We welcome guests and new members to lectures: just come along if you like the look of our programme, or contact Sue O'Brien, our Membership Secretary (see email address below) for more information.

The Society has an active, enthusiastic group of church recorders, one of the The Arts Society Volunteering activities. We are currently recording and researching the contents of  All Saints Church, Emberton, near Olney, which will be our seventh completed church record. More information about this activity is available from felicity.head@gmail.com or churchrecordingsociety@gmail.com.
