The North Buckinghamshire Decorative and Fine Arts Society was launched in 2009 and has now rebranded, in line with the national society, as The Arts Society North Bucks
This friendly society has approximately 220 members and enjoys a lively and varied programme of monthly lectures. Members of the Society come from the many towns and villages in North Bucks, including the largest, Milton Keynes, Olney and Newport Pagnell. As well as our monthly lectures, we offer members the chance to go on at least two external visits a year; we also hold two Special Interest Days on a variety of subjects, when members may explore a topic in more depth. We meet on the second Thursday of each month (except in July and August) at Lovat Hall in Newport Pagnell. Coffee is served from 10.15am, chairman's notices are at 10.50am, and the lecture, lasting for about one hour, is at 11.00am. Members also have the opportunity to browse and buy from a local bookseller, who brings a selection of his stock to every meeting. Guests and potential new members are very welcome!
If you are interested in volunteering to help with the charitable aspects of the Arts Society's work, we have an active group of Church Recorders, and have also carried out two successful Young Arts projects in Milton Keynes Hospital and at Willen School. Come along, learn something interesting, make some new friends and get involved! For a modest annual subscription (£45 per year) you can attend as many lectures as you wish.
