About The Arts Society for Members

 

The National Association of Decorative & Fine Arts Societies is a national organisation that supports a vibrant network of local Decorative and Fine Arts Societies.

 

Charitable Purpose

"NADFAS is established to promote the advancement of the aesthetic education of the public in the cultivation, appreciation and study of the decorative and fine arts and the giving of aid to the preservation of the artistic heritage of the United Kingdom and other countries for the benefit of the public."

NADFAS delivers these benefits to the public through supporting lectures on the fine and decorative arts in their widest sense, through Study Days, visits and tours and through volunteering activities such as Church Recorders, Heritage Volunteers and Young Arts.

 

Key NADFAS Activities

  • Production of the Directory of Lecturers - All NADFAS Lecturers have been through a rigorous selection process and are leading experts in their field
  • Provides support and advice on the smooth running of Societies
  • Provides materials necessary for the running of a Society such as promotional material
  • Offers Training and Information Days at national and local level
  • Seeks general regulatory and legal advice for Societies
  • Gives grants and awards
  • Supports specialist volunteering opportunities in Heritage Volunteering, Church Recording and Young Arts
  • Hosts national events open to NADFAS members and non-members
  • Publishes the NADFAS Review
  • Offers use of an online membership management database

 

The day to day running of the Association is administered by the Chief Executive and a small paid staff working closely with volunteers at NADFAS House.
