Lecture Review

In order to maintain The Arts Society’s high standards it is essential to have a method to comment on the performance of accredited lecturers. The vast majority of lecturers are excellent and offer a wonderful insight into a subject.

The review form should be completed after every lecture, study day / day of special interest, virtual tour or study course.

To ensure a continuing high standard of lecturing please summarise below any points - either complimentary or critical - arising from your Committee's discussion of the event. Wherever possible canvass opinion amongst the general membership.

An explanation of the ratings categories can be found here. Feel free to share this with your members.

Please note that we pass on comments to lecturers and that they may request their reviews at any time.

Please take care when completing the form and ensure that details given are accurate.

Comments on these forms should relate to the lecture and lecturing style, not the lecturer personally, and should be factual and constructive.

If there are problems with the Society's equipment the lecturer should not be marked down because of this.

In the case of a poor or passable review, the Education team will contact the Society’s committee to discuss the review.

If appropriate the Education team will then discuss the Society’s comments with the lecturer and ask for their response.

We do not need reviews on non-accredited lecturers or retired lecturers and their names will not appear on the drop down list. Please do not complete a form about them using another lecturer's name. If you need any help please contact education@theartssociety.org

Lecturers can comment on their visits to Societies and have a review form for this purpose. If we receive comments from lecturers which need following up we will contact the Society’s committee.

Thank you for taking the time to review events delivered by accredited lecturers. We very much appreciate your help with this.

Society

Your Society or Area name and the Lecturer's name are linked directly to the database, so, as you begin to type, the system will find the name and autofill the box for you. This will ensure that the review is linked to the records we have in the database.

Please type in just the local name without 'The Arts Society' at the beginning, eg: 'Henley' only for 'The Arts Society Henley'.
Lecturer
Please type Last Name, First Name and choose from the dropdown list that appears.
Please type the full name of the lecture. This will help us to link your review to the correct lecture within our database.

PLEASE NOTE: If the lecture was given twice (i.e. you are a double session Society), please submit two lecture review forms - one per session. In this case please list half the fee & travel expenses on each form. e.g. if the fee was £500 list £250 on each.
