Welcome to The Arts Society Jersey

The Arts Society is a worldwide membership organisation with over 64,000 members who share a passion and love of the arts. Their website is a very useful and informative site. We would recommend you to look at it, as an introduction to what The Arts Society as a whole, provides its members. The Arts Society head office publishes three magazines a year, with a huge variety of arts related articles. All members receive these magazines by post.

The Arts Society Jersey offers a seasonal membership from September until June, consisting of nine talks. A printed programme of our Speakers and Talks is available from September each year, as well as an electronic copy if preferred. All of our Speakers must pass through The Arts Society's rigorous selection procedure before being invited to join the "Directory of Lecturers". From this directory of over 400 we make our choices. However, we also look to members to recommend a lecturer they may know or a subject in which they have an interest in for future talks.

The talks take place on the third Tuesday of the month at The Royal Yacht Hotel, (Weighbridge, St Helier) with access to the Lazy Jack bar which is open to members and guests from 6pm. Talks are usually held on the third Tuesday of each month. Doors open at 6:00pm with talks beginning at 6:45 and last an hour. Members are welcome to bring guests (Guest tickets are £15 to be paid on the night, or in advance by bank transfer).

We also arrange "Special Events" throughout the year, information flyers on these events are sent out to the members by email several weeks prior to the event date.

The annual subscription is currently £76 for single membership and £142 for joint.
