Explore the lives of Viking women who left their Scandinavian homelands to make their mark on the Isle of Man. Memorial stones, grave goods and the sagas allow us a glimpse of just how powerful some of these women were.

Fenella Bazin
Continuing Education lecturer and organizer from 1970 at the Universities of Birmingham (1970-1977) and Liverpool (1978-c.2011) and Director of Postgraduate Studies, the Centre for Manx Studies, The University of Liverpool (1992-2005). Lecturer in Viking Studies and Modern Norway for cruise lines including Hurtigruten, Saga, Fred Olsen, Voyages of DIscovery and, since 2015, Lecturer and Resident Historian for Viking Ocean Cruises. She is also an accredited lecturer for The Arts Society (formerly NADFAS), with lectures on the world of the Vikings and the art of northern Norway. Publications include several books on music of the Isle of Man, journal articles and entries in reference books on both sides of the Atlantic.
