Jenny Scruton is a widely respected local speaker.
The life of this little known Swiss artist was as colourful as his paintings. He travelled to Turkey, where he ‘went native’, and documented local life. He returned to France and England producing portraits for the nobility including members of the French and English royal families. His portrait of William Constable in the Long Gallery at Burton Constable attracts admiring comments from visitors. His paintings are vibrant and detailed, many produced using pastels, which requires great technical skill.
