Trace the evolution of decorative glass from the Renaissance to modern times.
As a man-made product, originally created to rival the highly-prized natural material of rock crystal, glass has become one of the finest of the decorative arts, rivalling that of silver and ceramics. Its evolution from the Renaissance to the Modern era through changes in style, techniques of manufacture and decoration along with the movement of glassworkers into Britain from Europe in the 19th century, will be described and followed in this lecture.
