Join us on a 2-hour guided tour of the most famous church in England.
The Abbey has been the coronation church since 1066, and is the final resting place of 17 monarchs. Begun by Henry III in 1245, it is one of the most important Gothic buildings in the country and has been the setting for the most iconic national events including, of course, the coronation of King Charles III.
We will meet at the Cloisters entrance, Dean’s Yard, at 1.35pm for a 1.45pm prompt start.
The outing is only open to members and tickets are non-refundable. Cost: £40 per person.
Note: There are steps up to the Lady Chapel, with no wheelchair access and there are uneven paving stones throughout the building.
You may like to stay for Evensong which usually starts at 5pm, for which there is no charge. The Cellarium café is open until 4.30pm.
