Join us to celebrate and discover more about these two giants of British art and their radically different visions of landscape.
Was John Constable a 'chocolate box' painter or a revolutionary? Was JMW Turner a master of light or a 'madman'? What did they have in common and how did they differ in style and outlook? And what influenced them and how did they influence artists to come?
To tie in with the blockbuster 'Turner and Constable: Rivals and Originals' exhibition at Tate Britain, we are delighted to invite you to our first study day of 2026 to consider these questions.
Led by acclaimed art historian Stella Lyons, we will learn about how both artists transformed the way we see and appreciate landscapes.
The event takes places at the Omnibus Theatre, Clapham Common.
