Evelyn Silber, Vice Chair of The C. R. Mackintosh Society, will lead us on the study day at 3 Mackintosh sites in Glasgow.
Our spring study day tour will take in three sites
which show the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
Our Guide is Evelyn Silber who is a former Chair and
current Vice Chair of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh
Society and a former Director of the Hunterian. She
is also an accredited Arts Society lecturer.
Evelyn will accompany us throughout the day so will
be on hand to answer any questions.
9:30 Coach departs from Forthside, Stirling (near the Vue cinema)
10:30 Coffee / tea & biscuits on arrival at Mackintosh Queen’s Cross followed by a one hour lecture by Evelyn Silber
12:30 Lunch at Mackintosh at the Willow in Sauchiehall Street: there will be a choice of Quiche,Fish and chips, Macaroni cheese followed by scones, cream and jam plus tea or coffee
2:00 Depart for the Mackintosh House at the Hunterian Museum
4:00 Coach departs, return to Stirling about 5:00

THE ARTS SOCIETY ACCREDITED LECTURER
Dr Evelyn Silber
Educated at the Universities of Cambridge and Pennsylvania, worked at Birmingham Museums and Art Galleries, then 1995-2001, Director of Leeds Museums and Galleries. 2001-6 Director of the Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery, University of Glasgow. Author of books on Jacob Epstein and Gaudier-Brzeska. Has lectured for societies, universities and museums in Britain and the USA. Former Chair of Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society. Lectured for ADFAS in Australia and The Arts Society in New Zealand in 2014. Advises and leads cultural tours in and around Glasgow.
