This lecture will delve into the history of the movement of art works.

We love gazing at a painting by Titian or Caravaggio but where was it before it came to that museum? When Napoleon invaded Europe, he had the best works of art sent back to Paris. How did they get four life-size bronze horses of San Marco down from the basilica in Venice, over the Alps to Paris? Or what practicalities did shipping Michelangelo’s David? This lecture will delve into the history of the movement of art works.
