East Anglia Area

Welcome to The Arts Society East Anglia Area, a great way to expand your knowledge of the arts.

There are 23 Societies in this Area covering Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

The Area Support Team exists to enhance your enjoyment of the Society as an existing or potential member and offers support to local Societies through Area Meetings, educational events and co-ordination of the Arts Volunteering, Heritage Volunteers and Trails of Discovery activities.

Our aims are to promote the appreciation and study of every aspect of the arts and to preserve our artistic heritage for the benefit of all. To this end, we organise programmes of lectures, visits, tours and special interest days as well as the volunteer activities. Non-members are welcome to attend special interest days, and are particularly welcome to join the volunteers in their work in arts and heritage projects.

The Area brings together representatives of all the societies in our area. In this way Societies can benefit from the experiences of other Societies, raise any concerns and be kept up to date with current national policies. The Area offers support to the Societies through Area meetings, education events and training for new and potential committee members.

Society and Supporter members can become involved in worthwhile conservation volunteering projects in churches, museums, castles and historic houses.  Our Heritage Volunteers, Young Arts and Church Trails offer invaluable help to many public institutions, enhancing and encouraging the appreciation and understanding of art and our artistic heritage.

NB: Area SIDs are temporarily suspended. The Area Support Team will continue to offer forums for Programme Secretaries, Visits and Tour Organisers.
