Young Arts Bursary

The following letter was received from Jess Davies who has benefited from The Arts Society North Lincolnshire Young Arts Bursary. She has been able to buy an iPad to help with her studies.

Dear Carole

Thank you so much for your kind generosity from the Art Society North Lincolnshire for the bursary. Thank you too for your patience and understanding of the delay and impact of my recent health issues. I am pleased to let you know that i have now been well enough to both purchase the iPad, protective case, apple pencil and apps and have begun using them both at home (in the studio) and in the field. the iPad is making existing tasks much easier and the apps are opening up so many new creative possibilities that i am only just be beginning to explore too. Although i continue to struggle with my health, i am looking forward to starting back at university next week to complete the final year of my degree on a part time basis, where i will continue to focus my practical work on the sights and sounds of the local fresh-water Humber reed-beds, The iPad is already enabling me to capture sounds directly from the environment using my hydrophonic recording equipment, and combine/manipulate sketches and photographic source material in situ. the work i am doing in this unique natural environment has great potential to be developed post-degree and to cross over to incorporate community-based environmental art projects/events. So, i am very excited to be able to purchase this equipment with your help, and to explore the new creative possibilities it is opening up. in the meantime i have also been able to book on the creative media artist-development day this coming Saturday at the Steelrooms - taking my new iPad with me! Thank you so much for all your help and support.
