Using their Community Grant, The Arts Society Mid Somerset enabled all 140 pupils of the Countess Gytha Primary School, Queen Camel, to take part in a full day of arts enrichment activities. Starting with an understanding where the clay had come from, in this case locally sourced, Pupils were encouraged by Local Craftsman, George Sutton to be creative, get tactile experience of handling clay that led to producing pinch-pots. Following firing, the pots will be decorated and taken home. A day of fun, creativity and identifying future artists ended with a thumbs up by both the pupils and staff.
